From intersection of US 221 and NC 226, go north at stop light on US 221/NC 226. Continue on US 221/NC 226 until you reach the third stop light.	12.4

Turn right to continue on NC 226. You will begin a steep mountain ascent.	4.2
Turn right to continue on NC 226. You will cross below the Blue Ridge Parkway as soon as you make this turn.	1.2

Turn left onto Humpback Mountain Road just beyond the Altapass Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station.	0.8
Humpback Mountain Road goes to right, continue going straight on Henredon Road. You will see the Henredon Furniture Plant on your left. After you pass this plant, the pavement ends. Continue on the gravel road. The Registration Office is on the left.	1.6
