Welcoming you Back to the Mountains
We are again welcoming visitors to the mountains!
Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Springmaid Mountain is your gateway to adventure, relaxation and the beauty of the great outdoors. While we continue our recovery from Hurricane Helene, we’re excited for all that lies ahead! Our team has been hard at work restoring trails, enhancing our cabins and ensuring that your visit is as peaceful and memorable as ever.
Whether you're here for adventure or to simply unwind beneath the mountain sky, we can’t wait to welcome you. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to making new memories with you at Springmaid Mountain!
Most cabins at Springmaid Mountain are available for reservations. Our campground will remain closed for the season, with plans to open later this year.
All roads leading to Springmaid Mountain are open but please be aware that utility work continues in the area, requiring lane closures and traffic delays. The Blue Ridge Parkway does operate one-lane closures during daytime hours as part of ongoing storm clean-up. A detailed outline of BRP closures can be found here.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHILE ON THE PROPERTY
Please be aware that several amenities on property remain unavailable, including the trout pond and access to the waterfalls on property. The swinging bridge, which was an iconic part of our landscape for more than four decades, was demolished by the storm surge and will not be replaced.
- Guests should use caution while on property and not venture to areas that have not been cleared.
- Work remains ongoing during daytime hours to clear roads off Saddle Ridge Drive and throughout the property.
- Starlink has been installed in all available cabins, providing access to internet and streaming services.
- Our hiking trails were significantly impacted during the storm, and we have already spent dozens of manhours aiding in their cleanup and return. All open hiking trails have been updated on our interactive map.
- Horseback riding is available to guests staying on property and the general public with one-hour trail rides and lead-line options.
WHAT TO EXPECT AROUND SPRUCE PINE
Spruce Pine remains deeply affected by the lingering impact of the storm. Walmart and all gas stations are open, as are most restaurants. We ask for patience as our community tries to return to normal and get employees back to work. Downtown businesses remain closed, and guests should expect to stay on property or plan accordingly when venturing out. Local attractions have opened for the season, and we encourage you to visit Western North Carolina and support our tourism industry.
Please consider supporting our local businesses by visiting those that have reopened or making online purchases. Please follow @DowntownSprucePine to support local economic recovery efforts and find out how you can support our community.
Thank you for your continued support! We can’t wait to see you at Springmaid Mountain.
